Developers plan to turn Westchester building into apartments

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — Developers in Westchester County are looking to repurpose an old office building in White Plains.

The Journal News reports (http://lohud.us/2kofMo9) that American Equity Partners LLC wants to convert the AT&T building into a modern apartment complex. The firm bought the property in November.

The building is vacant with the exception of two floors that are used by a power company.

AEP presented plans for the complex during a Common Council session. The firm wants to transform the building into a complex that houses 245 units, a gym, theatre and game room. Developers also plan to add another level to the structure for penthouse suites.

A formal application will be submitted to city officials later this month.
