HEMPSTEAD VILLAGE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities on Long Island are searching for a suspect who they say shot and killed a man.
Newsday reports (http://nwsdy.li/2nFMPJ0) that a man was shot in Hempstead Village in Nassau County around 6:15 p.m. Monday. Police say the victim was shot in the head and back.
The man was taken to Nassau University Medical Center where he later died.
Detective Lt. Richard LeBrun says the man was targeted. Police haven't identified the victim.
No arrests have been made. An investigation is ongoing.
