MIAMI – The New York Mets are headed to Miami to take on the Miami Marlins on Friday night.
The Mets are starting Logan Verrett on the mound tonight. In his last start, he received the no-decision in the Mets’ 4-2 defeat at Philadelphia on July 16, Pitching 6.0 innings, gave up two runs, earned, on eight hits, and also struck out four and walked one. The outing marked his fourth start of the season where he has tossed at least 6.0 innings. He is 1-1 with a 2.55 ERA (seven earned runs/24.2 innings pitched) in such starts. In the outing, he struck out 17 and walked nine.
The Marlins will start LHP Adam Conley, who is 6-5 with a 3.61 ERA this season.
The Mets are 27-20 against the Marlins since 2014.
